Maintaining Our Roads and Bridges

Ensuring well-maintained roads and bridges is one of the primary responsibilities of a County Judge. As one of the largest county road systems in Arkansas, Washington County maintains over 400 miles of paved roads and over 500 miles of gravel roads. This involves everything from patching potholes and fixing guardrails to resurfacing county roads. As Judge, I will:

  • Create a regular schedule for road maintenance that ensures convenience of travel and that first responders can easily traverse areas to help citizens in need.

  • Keep our local roads as the primary focus of my office.

  • Ensure a healthy county reserve for emergency needs, such as flooding and washouts.

  • Work with the state and federal government to ensure projects are completed on time and that the county receives payments on any reimbursable maintenance.
